Between 1956 and 1974 Brian was leading goal scorer every season until he retired at the age of 34. He scored 4 goals on his debut in the first team and continued to score regularly for the first eleven and Reserves. He captained the latter in winning the S.O.L Jun. Div 3 in season 1969-70, scoring 58 goals. He scored 10 goals on one occasion and numerous hat tricks.
Brian was Team secretary for many years and resigned as Chairman of Selection Committee before moving to Hampshire. He was a vice president of the club. Now 82 years of age, still alive and kicking. He has many happy memories of Brackendale, Sussex Way and Hadley Field. His two younger brothers Roger and Allan both played for the club. Roger in particular graced the first eleven for several seasons.
